Harps philosophy is to keep as much of the system electronics in building as far as possible.

All computers are housed in racks that are environmentally controlled. This reduces the amount of electronics in the display heads simplifying the  design to with stand the elements.

All the display heads are driven from a central system using video over CAT5 techniques to enable displays to be driven up to 150m. A fibre option will allow connectivity up to 30 km.

The video is broken down into three components, the red, the green and blue. Each is converted into two differential signals ( a + and – signal) which are then transmitted up the CAT5 cable to the display head where they are recombined eliminating any noise pickup CMR back to the original signals for input into the monitor.

For more remote systems the drive electronics have to be housed with the display and utilises wireless communications for updates. More care has to be taken with the design and use of high specified components
